Greetings and Gratitude – 28 March 2025

Hello and welcome to my newsletter/blog!

Thank you for subscribing to my author website. I’m excited to have the opportunity to reach readers and prospective readers in a more personal way and hope you enjoy these communications. My intention isn’t to overwhelm you with yet another email but to keep you informed as to news and any updates relating to my works in progress.

As those of you who have read Saint of Lost Souls are aware, Kate’s fondness for and ties to Durham University feature throughout the novel. So you can imagine how pleased and honored I was, as an alum of Durham’s Ustinov College, to be interviewed on 5 March in celebration of International Women’s Day/World Book Day and as part of Ustinov College’s 60th Anniversary events. Adam Dickson, PhD candidate and curator of Ustinov’s 60th Anniversary program, was an engaging and thoughtful moderator for the event. The video will be available for viewing as part of the College’s “Ustinov Meets” series. I’ll post the link when it becomes available for anyone who might be interested in checking it out.

Since we don’t have agents or publishers, marketing departments or social media support, independent authors rely on the kindness of strangers – truly – as well as our wonderful readers. Once again, I was delighted and grateful when Ashlyn from my local Greenville Barnes & Noble bookstore offered not only to stock Saint of Lost Souls but to also host an author event! On 26 April, I’ll be signing books and meeting readers from 1:00 – 3:00pm at the Shops at Greenridge Barnes & Noble (Woodruff Road) location.

Seeing my debut novel on Barnes & Noble’s shelves for the first time was a moment I’ll never forget:

A huge shout-out to Ashlyn and Ivy, store managers, for all their support and kindness.

On 6 June, I’ll be joining Natalie Christmas, Programs Chair, and the good folks at the Rotary Club of Greenville City Center for lunch and a discussion regarding my experiences writing and self-publishing Saint of Lost Souls. I’m excited to share my thoughts and sign books for any members who might be interested.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting details of how readers can sign up to receive an exclusive short story through my new Readers’ Club. Saint of Lost Souls is told from Kate’s perspective, but the forthcoming story will be told from another character’s POV, where we’ll see a whole new and unexpected side to Kate! Details coming soon.

Thank you again for being a reader or expressing an interest in my work. Please feel free to get in touch. I reply personally to all emails and will never share your contact details.

Until next time,

Trish McGarrahan
